Overview
The Qualifications Manager is a feature within Boost Learn that allows managers to track and report on external qualifications held or being worked towards by staff.
External qualifications are certifications gained outside of Boost. For example:
- Level 2 or Level 3 Diplomas in Adult Care
- Diplomas in Health and Social Care
- Any other nationally recognised qualification awarded by an external body
Staff working towards these qualifications gather evidence of their tasks, skills, and knowledge independently and submit it to an awarding organisation. If they meet the required standard, they receive a certificate from that organisation. The Qualifications Manager gives you a single place to record and monitor this process across your team.
| Note: The Qualifications Manager is currently in preview. It is fully functional, but its design and behaviour may change without notice as we continue to develop it. |
What can you track?
For each staff member, you can record:
| Field | Description |
| Qualification | The qualification being worked towards or already held |
| Awarding Organisation | The body that awards the qualification (optional) |
| Status | In Progress, Complete, or Withdrawn |
| Start Date | When the staff member began working towards the qualification |
| Target/Completion Date | The date they are aiming to finish, or the date they completed it |
Who is it for?
The Qualifications Manager is designed for managers and administrators who are responsible for monitoring staff development. There are two levels of access:
- View Qualifications – Allows a user to view and interact with records
- Manage Qualifications – Allows a user to add, edit, and delete records
Key points
- The Qualifications Manager is not connected to training completed on Boost itself. It is specifically designed for qualifications awarded by external organisations – ones where staff collect their own evidence and submit it independently.
- Each record is associated with a location. Managers will only see records for the locations they are responsible for.
- The lists of available qualifications and awarding organisations are maintained by the Boost team. If you need an entry added that is not currently available, contact us and we will add it.
- It does not replace or connect with training records on Boost Learn
- It does not directly interface with awarding organisations
- It does not store certificates or evidence files – it is a tracking and reporting tool only
