In this tutorial, we're going to look at how to create a course in Boost Learn. We'll also cover the different course content types and the settings you can apply to a course. Let's dive in.
To start creating a course, go to the Courses tab on the left-hand menu. At the top-right, click Actions, then select Create New Course.
Provide a name for the course and add a description. Click Save to create a draft version of the course.
You will now see the course settings listed on the main page and the course options in the tabs at the top of the page. To start populating the course, select the Content tab.
Choose from the various types of course content, including:
- Modules — Add text, images, or graphics.
- SCORM files — Upload prebuilt eLearning courses.
- Assignments — Add tasks for learners to submit and for managers to review.
- Exams — Create multiple‑choice questions for assessment.
- Surveys — Collect learner feedback.
- Library Content — Use existing uploaded resources.
- Live Learning Events — Add events created in the Live Learning tab.
- Checklists — Add a manager sign‑off step.
- E‑Signature — Allow learners to sign documents as part of the learning experience.
To demonstrate, let’s add a module. Select the Module option, then create and save the module name. Populate the module with content such as text, documents, videos, or audio files. For this example, we’ll add text.
Customising Course Flow:
Create multiple modules if needed—there’s no limit. Enable sequential navigation if learners must complete modules in a specific order.
Adjusting Course Settings:
Return to Settings and configure additional options. Set a due date for course completion and enable notifications, specifying how often and when they should be sent.
When you have finished setting up the course, select Actions and publish the course. Remember, learners cannot be enrolled until the course is published. You also cannot edit course content once it's published.
If you need support or encounter an issue with the platform, contact your manager or email our support team at support@Boostcare.org, or select Raise a Ticket at the bottom of your training platform when logged in. Please provide as much information as possible so we can assist you as quickly as possible.
